It has taken a while, but oddsmakers and bettors are finally starting to give the Minnesota Vikings some respect. The Vikes head into Week 14 tied with the New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Philadelphia Eagles for the best outright record in the NFL at 10-2. Minnesota has also moved up the Super Bowl futures board to sit at +700, trailing only the other 10-2 teams. However, from a point spread betting perspective, no team has been more reliable than the Vikings. After a bit of a shaky start, Minnesota has covered the spread in seven straight games as the club gets set to visit the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. The Vikings are holding as 3-point favourites on the road with almost 70 percent of our betting support.

The last four games on this week’s schedule could be must-see TV with a lot of support for the dogs. The Seahawks visit the Jaguars as 2.5-point underdogs with a total of 40 points on the board. Each team allows fewer than 19 points per game and nearly 80 percent of early bettors are taking the points with Seattle. Gamblers like another 2.5-point underdog with Philadelphia visiting the Chargers as the pup. We’re seeing better than 75 percent of our action coming in on the Eagles to cover that number. In the Sunday Night Football matchup, almost 70 percent of bettors have the Ravens covering as 5.5-point underdogs in Pittsburgh.

The biggest spread of the week is giving the Miami Dolphins 11.5 points at home against the New England Patriots, but dog bettors aren’t willing to take that chance – even with Pats tight end Rob Gronkowski suspended. About 85 percent of early bets are taking the Patriots to cover.

Just when Montreal Canadiens supporters were about ready to pack it in for the year, Carey Price returned from injury and is trying to save their season. The Habs have won five of their last six since then and Price looks to be in world-class form. Montreal has still cost bettors almost five units this year, but maybe there are brighter days ahead for the club yet.

Toronto FC is pegged as a -164 favourite to avenge last year’s MLS Cup final loss to Seattle on Saturday and Canadian soccer fans are firmly behind the Reds. We’re seeing heavy support for Toronto on the game line and props, so you may want to jump on them early if you plan to be backing TFC before kickoff.
