After last weekend’s convincing victory, the New England Patriots continue to look like they fit the bill as -125 Super Bowl favourites. The Pats beat up on the Titans, easily covering the big 13.5-point spread they were facing at home. Bill Belichick’s squad has now won and covered in nine of its last 10 games overall. That victory fueled the line for the AFC Championship matchup that opened with the Patriots set as 9.5-point favourites at home against the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars. The early action quickly came in on the Jaguars, which has dropped the line down to New England -8.5. As of now about 60 percent of the betting handle is on the Patriots to cover, while 64 percent of the bets are on this game going over the 46.5-point total.

The NFC Championship game odds have also dropped a bit since the open. The Minnesota Vikings opened as 3.5-point favourites as they visit Minnesota on Sunday, but that line currently sits at -3. The total has slipped from 39 to 38.5. About 55 percent of bettors like the Vikings to cover and more than 70 percent of bets are on over 38.5 points.

Watch out for the Colorado Avalanche in the Western playoff race. The Avs have reeled off seven straight wins and are now just two points back of a Wild Card spot. Colorado has moved into third place in the NHL puckline money standings having earned more than 10 units for its bettors. The vast majority of those profits have come at home (more than nine units) and the club plays two more games at home before heading out on a six-game road trip.

The Calgary Flames are on their bye until this weekend, but they had also won seven in a row before that and held their opposition to fewer than three goals in five of those wins. If this team keeps playing strong defence, they can make some noise in the West too.

Meanwhile, the hottest team in the East is the Boston Bruins. The Bruins are 7-0-3 in their last 10 to break even for their puckline bettors on the year. They rank among the league’s top six in average goals for and goals against, so they could be a team to keep an eye on down the stretch.
