Interaction betting analyst Al Dannity breaks down a massive slate of MMA
betting as UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva defends his title against
Chael Sonnen at UFC 148!
It is the re-match the world has been waiting for. Chael Sonnen, the
only man ever to push Anderson Silva to the brink in UFC action, looks to shock
the world by taking the Spider’s UFC Middleweight title. Silva has the longest
winning and title defense streaks in UFC history, with 14 straight wins and 9
straight defences. On Saturday night he will look to add one more win to those
records against his fiercest rival. MMA betting fans know this is personal for
Silva, who has been called out by Sonnen for almost two years since their epic
battle in August 2010. Now, finally, the time for talking is over.
While Sonnen set the pace in their
previous fight, I like Silva to go after the challenger early and often. The
Brazilian is the most dangerous striker in the history of the sport and he has
a point to prove on Saturday night. I like Silva to retain his title at -260
with Sports Interaction but the bigger question is in finding value in the
method of victory. The challenger has notoriously poor submission defense but I
think strikes are going to be a bigger factor in this fight. That’s why I like
the Spider winning by KO, TKO, or DQ at +100. How long the fight goes could
come down to the resilience of Sonnen. I expect Sonnen to hang with Silva for
close to two rounds but the extraordinary fitness of the Brazilian should prove
telling. Bet on Anderson Silva to win in Round 2 at +400 with Sports
Interaction!
The other big fight on the card pits two
former Light Heavyweight champions against one another. Tito Ortiz will have
his final fight in the octagon against Forrest Griffin. This is the third
battle between the pair. Ortiz beat Griffin via split decision in 2006 but
Griffin took a split decision win over the Huntington Beach Bad Boy in 2009.
Ortiz has just 1 win in his last 8 fights, a run that goes back to his loss to
Chuck Liddell in 2006. Motivated as he will be to go out on a high, it’s hard
to see him finding a way to take the rubber match in this rivalry. Griffin
believes he has one last big run in him and that should
drive him to the victory here. Bet on Forrest Griffin to win big at -325 with
Sports Interaction.
