Sports Interaction’s betting analyst Al Dannity breaks down the Sweet
Sixteen as the second weekend of March Madness gets under way.
Let’s start in the South region where Coach Cal and
the Wildcats take on Tom Crean’s Hoosiers. Kentucky lost just twice all year
and one of those defeats came in Bloomington. You can bet John Calipari will be
keen to avenge that loss at Indiana. I like the Wildcats to win on Friday.
Their opponents in the Elite Eight will be either Baylor or Xavier. The
Musketeers defied the critics to beat Notre Dame and then Lehigh. The music
stops on Friday. Bet on Baylor to win big with Sports Interaction.
The West region sees Michigan State square off with
Louisville on Thursday night. Rick Pitino and Tom Izzo are two of the most
experienced and successful coaches at this level and I expect a classic on the
hardwood. Depth matters at this stage of the tournament and that’s why I like
the Spartans to move on to the Elite Eight. Marquette and Florida meet in the
West’s other Sweet Sixteen game. The Golden Eagles don’t usually go this deep
in March and it’s even more unusual to see them as big favorites to beat the
Gators. They have earned top billing in my book. Bet on Marquette to win big
with Sports Interaction.
The Fab Melo-drama continues to dominate the story in
the East. Syracuse will once again be in trouble on the boards when Jim
Boeheim’s charges take on Wisconsin. The Badgers are hard to watch but reliable
to bettors. On this night however I like the Orange to have too much offense
for Bo Ryan’s team. I like Syracuse to win. Their Elite Eight opponent will be
the winner of an all-Ohio clash. The Buckeyes battle the Bearcats on Thursday
night and it’s time for Ohio State to show some dominance. We haven’t seen
everything this team can do but that will all change against Cincinnati. Bet on
the Buckeyes with Sports Interaction!
Finally we move to the Midwest where injury drama
dominates. The Tar Heels will almost certainly be without Kendall Marshall when
they take on the Ohio Bobcats on Friday. That leaves UNC without a pure point
guard with serious minutes, as back-up Dexter Strickland is also out injured.
Despite the crisis, I like North Carolina to win against their MAC opponents.
That leaves us with just one Sweet Sixteen game to pick. The Kansas Jayhawks
take on a surprise package in NC State. The Wolfpack may be back in the big
time but their stay will be short. Bet on the Jayhawks to win big with Sports
Interaction!
